Importance of White

Excitement of a long awaited vacation started last month. it was not because for summer vacation for a longer period but excitement of vacation lies in visiting to Leh and Kashmir. My children kept on asking when they are going to play in snow. While coming from Delhi to Leh by flight, we could see the beauty of snow capped mountain. It was messimerising that children could not stop their excitment to see it. When we landed in Leh airport, get the feel of the temperature difference. Pleasant air breeze with chilling effect and snow capped mountain view all around made the butterfly in our stomach.

Next day we headed to Kardung La Pass, the highest motorable peak in the world at 17500 ft. When we we were heading from 11500 ft to 17500 ft, we embraced the beauty of nature much closer. Our excitement were much more to see and touched them and finally we did. It was like white silky bedsheet wrapped the mountain beautifully. But while experiencing the same it reminded me and intrigued with a question that what is importance of white colour in our life? Most of time when we talk of colour, our mind occupies with rainbow colours. But what about white colour? How does it make difference to our life and nature itself?

'White' is a very friendly colour, gives home to all colourfull colours and their importance. If we want to have a beautiful canvas, we strike the brush in white paper itself and each colours are embolden in white background. While doing so white colour losses it visibility. It sacrifices its colour for other friends. Even we have noticed that while entering into new home we get the wall painted with white as base colour, others colours occupies in it later.

White finds importance in our culture and tradition. Our school uniform, white shirt are in white colour and learning at school starts with white chalk and white note book. Dhoti symbol of our long tradition is also white in colour. White also represents simplicity and transparency. It finds a place in our national flag. White flag represents pease & prosperity.

In nature, white tiger, white elephant and white peacock always attracted nature's lover because of their uniqueness.

What does come to your mind when you see white colour? Please leave your comment.

My Home Town is a Pot of Sweet Food with Memory

Every year I plan to visit to my home town with my wife and kids to meet our family members. Since it is so far off and due to paucity of time, only possible to make it happen atleast once in a year. But this is one time affair we try to utilise our time mostly spending with all family members.

Each of the places has its own culture and food habits and hence eating joints are made accordingly especially street side foods. This time, we had amazing time with family members having such delicious food, sweet and drinks not to be mistaken, drinks means lassi. My home town is Patna

Staying in Bangalore, I really miss my hometown especially for these food items. It is not just for tempting tastes but they remind me the old days of my childhood that was grown up filling hunger of food items with memory that etched in our mind. It reminds me  how to stay in scarcity and sparingly spend little money that we had. It reminds me that when my father put down the shutter of his shop in the night and took me to market to buy vegetables and fruits, while returning he satiates my thirst with refreshing lassi at the corner of the market. It was not just lassi but also showing a sense of love from father to his son. He  himself refreshing with a bundle of pan and pack it one for my mom.

In those days, we used to not having much of money. I used to save the pocket money and spend them with family and friends when an auspicious days to arrive, especially in Durgapur and Diwali. Going to chat corner with friends always been a place for chatting and laughing among ourself.

On our visit, we cherished ourself by visiting Mauralok and having eating liti chokha, faloda ice cream, rabri etc.
Making of samosa on every Wednesday from Charkha Samiti, still reminds us homemade touch made by Aganbadi women. This vacation, fortunately we were present on Wednesday and thoroughly enjoyed eating them with all family members.

In early morning, this time we had walked down to Gandhi maidan. While walking it reminds our old days of visiting to this place with entire family members gathered on Vijaya Dashmi to see 'Lanka Dahan' and eating lot of peanuts, the most acceptable time pass, golgappa, milkshake and a lot of munching foods to satiate the hunger. The place became like a great Indian show in just one ground.

My school was just 100 metre away from my home. This vacation I walked down and I felt just nostalgic in the morning. It was school time, children were entering to school. Outside the gate a lot street side vendors werr surrounded by children. It took me to my old days as if I  was standing awaiting my turn to get 'chuski' by paying just Rs 1. While entering to school I used to take some jaggery made sweet called 'latha' for myself and my friends.

While spending time in home, the most memorable and refreshing time was getting homemade food that was been served by bhabhi. Nowwhere restaurant in the world can replace the homemade food. It is not because of its simplicity and hieginic but it contents love and affection eating and enjoying together. It reminds our old days, my mother used to cook delicious food especially Pulao and Paneer and we enjoyed every bit of it. My son likes very much halwa, not just him but everyone likes it since the recipe of halwa is given my mother, so he named it 'Dadi halwa'. This time while reaching home on first day my son asked for Daldi Halwa. My mother didnt held up herself for the love of grandson and cooked it for all of us and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

I am sure your home town must have etched unforgettable memory in your mind for love of food, family, friends and fun.

Do you have such memory? Please write your comment.

Yours

Everyday Is Special For Us, Just Need To Create It

Yesterday was Akshaya Tritya, special day as per Indian mythology.  Every around the corner, got the news for it. As per mythological believe, on this day many of events took place. On this  day, war of Mahabharata ends, son of Lord Brahma, Akshaya Kumar was born, Krishna met his friend Sudama, birth of Maharshi Parshuram. Kuber had got the treasure on this day, Maa Ganga came to earth on  this day, the day of Satyug and Tretyayug started on this date and so on. I can acknowledge the importance of this day so many of special event took place in Indian mythology.

But as I remember of my childhood, this day was not much of known to us as special day. Nowadays this day has become special because of media and social media and it has got commercial importance. It is told that on this date, any gold buying or doing anything good always create fortune.

But I am intriguing with question that the day is so important for creating some special event. Is the day so special that ensure fortune in life?

I believe that each day is special in our life. This believe intrigue me with a question whatever we did in life on that particular day that resulted with success, was it special day as Akshay Tritya. May be or may not be. Any day can be special if we create it with all positivity and full energy. The day we got the job, the day son or daughter was born, the day we buy new car or new house, the day we got married, all are special day in our life but they were not necessarily happened on such auspicious day. We believed all those days were auspicious in our life to make it happen.

My First Step!

My first step towards expressing myself through Blogging, born out of desire to express my suppressed thoughts, observation, opinion and emotion.

I personally observed that I am not very expressive myself. My first step towards penning down blogging may help to be more expressive now.

With this tiny step, I will continue to write what I feel to write under Sun.
